At the end of 2009, the Group had 826 employees, down by 14 % from 2008. Of these, 352 were salaried employees (275 of them associated with production-oriented operations) and 475 were production workers and carpenters. 476 were employed in the Norwegian operation and 346 in the Swedish operation.

Block Watne had 474 employees at the end of 2009 compared with 503 at the end of 2008. The company’s operations are conducted from 21 regional offices from Trøndelag in the north down to the south. The decentralised organisation model ensures proximity to local market conditions, authorities and sub-contractors. The regional offices are all organised according to the same model, with a regional manager, project manager, building manager, sales staff, secretary and carpenters. The regional manager has local responsibility for purchasing of property, project development, sales, building, delivery to the customer and financial results.
Support functions and the management group are based at Head Office. Head office has around 45 employees. The technical department is made up of architects, engineers and key individuals who develop housing concepts, design and perform calculations for the different housing projects. The accounting, purchasing, quality control, human resources, marketing, communication and legal support functions offer support and expertise to the regional offices.
The Hetlandhus brand wasrelaunched in the 1st quarter of 2009. The manager of the Hetlandhus business took up his position in January 2009. During 2009 a network of retailers has been established in the central part of Østlandet (south east Norway).

the swedish operation
Myresjöhus, SmålandsVillan and associated staff functions had 346 employees at the end of 2009 compared with 457 employees at the end of 2008.
Components and modules are produced at the company’s three production facilities. Management and support functions for the two brands are based at Head Office. Myresjöhus and SmålandsVillan are organised as separate business areas with responsibility for marketing and sales of each products. Production processes and administrative support functions are integrated.
Head office has around 40 employees. The accounting, purchasing, quality control, technology, IT and HR support functions offer support and expertise to the business areas. The administration support for sales and production including architects, technical designers, calculators and material administrators are also connected to the head office.
